Hello, I'm Mark
I work with adults and children, helping them with all kinds of difficulties. I also, but not exclusively, work with people with neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism or ADHD. I have worked in lots of different settings, including the NHS, Schools, Neurodevelopmental Services, and private practice.
I am a psychotherapist accredited with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP). I am also a member of the British Psychological Society, and have a Master of Science in Applied Neuropsychology.
I use a number of different therapeutic approaches, such as CBT (and CBT-E for eating disorders), DBT, CFT, ACT, Mindfulness, and Lego Therapy. I adapt my approach to meet the needs of each person I work with.
As a member of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP) I practice in accordance with their framework of Standards of Conduct Performance and Ethics. I believe it is important to have a shared understanding of the responsibilities which both client and therapist have during their work together, and I work in a way which supports openness and allows us to develop a shared understanding of the difficulties we are working with.
To be fully compliant with these guidelines it is necessary for us to agree a therapy contract at the beginning of our time together, to ensure we have mutual understanding of each others expectations and the therapeutic undertaking. A copy of the BABCP code of conduct is available for you to download in the link below.
